Laos program by the numbers

The last financial year has been massive for Abundant Water. Between the commencement of our long-awaited campaign in the Philippines, to our partnerships with Engineers Without Borders and the Australian National University in Timor-Leste. We thought we would kick off this year’s beneficiary numbers in Laos – the country that started it all.

Below are the figures for Abundant Water’s filter production and distribution in Laos for the 2021-22 financial year:

  • 559 vendor-made filters were distributed to Lao locals

  • 357 households were fitted with Abundant Water’s filters

  • 120 schools fitted with our water filters (with 6,000 students and teachers on average per school)

  • 934 water filters produced

Above: Abundant Water vendors in a training session learning about the filters.

Abundant Water’s reach throughout the 2021-22 financial year:

  • 2,150 total beneficiaries

  • 3 new vendors were fully trained in Laos

  • 8,150 more people with access to clean drinking water in Laos

Abundant Water’s historical numbers in Laos:

  • 11,670 total filters distributed throughout Abundant Water’s history

  • 103,881 people given improved access to clean water throughout Abundant Water’s history

  • 192 total vendors trained

These milestones would not be possible without the hard work of our teams on the ground, our locally-trained vendors, and all of our beneficiaries. We hope to see many more communities thrive as we move into the next financial year.
